Mrs. John Orchekowski(sic), 85, of 1128 N. Eighth St., Manitowoc, died Monday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, after a short illness.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, with the Rev. E.A. Radey officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The former Gertrude Broune was born May 15, 1873, in the Town of Franklin, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Broune. She attended township schools and as a young woman went to Chicago where she was employed several years. She was married in 1895 to John Orchekowski and the couple settled at Manitowoc. He died in 1940.
Surviving are a son, Joseph, of Manitowoc; three daughters, Mrs. Leo Wiezek, of Rt. 2, Manitowoc, and Mrs. John Kaminski and Mrs. John Block, of Manitowoc; a brother, Joseph, of Taus; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. by the Christian Mothers Altar Society of Holy Innocents Church, of which Mrs. Orchekowski was a member.
