Of St. Paul, Minnesota, passed away 15 November 2005. She was born 25 June 1940 in Jackson, Mississippi, and was reared in New Orleans, Louisiana. Beverly was a graduate of Harriet Sophie Newcomb College of Tulane University. She received a Certificate of Social Work from the Graduate School of Louisiana State University. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert, and her children: Nancy and husband, Fred, Robert and wife, Tonya, and Susan and husband, Charles. She especially cherished her five grandchildren, Emma, Honor, Alexandra, Arthur, and Lewis. She is survived also by her sister, Nancyand her brother, Frank, as well as nieces and nephews. She served as president of the St. Paul League of Women Voters, president of the Minnesota League of Women Voters and First Vice President of the League of Women Voters of the United States. She received the Hope Washburn Award and the Fay Lyksett Award from the League of Women Voters. She served many years as the Administrative Director of the International Society of Differentiation, Inc., and as part of her duties traveled to many countries throughout the world. She was an avid bird watcher. She co-authored five scientific studies with her husband. She was a long-time and active member of the House of Hope Presbyterian Church where she loved thoughtful ministry, beautiful music and a wonderful church family. Governor Rudy Perpich appointed her to the Commission on Judicial Selection and Governor Arnie Carlson designated 28 April 1992 as Beverly Kerr McKinnell day. In 1990 she was appointed a Charter Member of the Ramsey County Charter Commission which drafted the first county charter ever written in the one hundred and twenty year history of the state of Minnesota.
