Fannie Kalchstein was apparently born in either what is now the Ukraine or Austria-Hungary in 1881, and she came to America with her parents, landing at Castle Garden in New York in 1888 when she was 7. She later married Henry Grossman, and remained married to him until his death in 1951. Five years later, Fannie died at the age of 75. She was laid to rest next to her husband, and near two of her sons, Isidor Grossman and Jacob ("Jack") Grossman, in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Maspeth, Queens, New York.
