Fran was born on April 20, 1919 in Rising Star, TX to Benjamin Brown and Ethel Irby. She died May 4, 2012. She was preceded in death by her daughter Catherine, her brother Irby Brown and her sister Marjorie Brown Lacy. She is survived by her son David Colson (Susanna), their children Levon and Shushanik; her step-son Chris Colson and his family; her nieces Sylvia King, Jacquelyn Amerman and Jill Frazier.
After she married, they moved to Arvada where she was employed by Jeffco Schools as a teacher; received a Master's from Michigan State University. She taught science at N. Arvada Jr. High, eventually retiring as a counselor from Arvada West HS. She owned the Alpenhutte Lodge in Silverthorne 1988-1998.
The memorial service will be held at Arvada United Methodist Church, 6750 Carr St. at 11 AM Tuesday, May 8th. The reception will follow. Memorial donations may be made to www.denver-redcross.org.
