Calvin Patterson, 79, of Tiptonville, formerly of Rives, who died March 18, 2007, at Reelfoot Manor Nursing Home. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Obion County Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at White-Ranson Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday. He was born Aug. 14, 1927, in St. Louis, son of the late James Monroe and Mary Elizabeth (O'Guinn) Patterson. He married the former Jessie Tompkins in 1992. She survives. He was retired from the Chris Fielder Sheet metal and Roofing Co. in Memphis. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of the sheet metal union in Memphis. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors also include his daughter, Lynda Meeks of Sevierville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Kathy Patterson of Hernando, Miss., and Mike and Kathy Patterson of Finger; his stepson, James Gunter of Tiptonville; four grandchildren, Michelle Meeks of Indianapolis, Shane Patterson and B.J. Patterson, both of Memphis, and Micki Patterson of Finger; his sister, Hilda Elizabeth Caruthers of Sevierville; his niece and her husband, Patricia Elizabeth and Judge William R. "Bill" Holt of Sevierville; and two great nephews, Mark Anthony Holt and William Todd Holt, both of Sevierville. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Dorsey Faye Tidwell.
