William Cecil Akridge, 85, of 4315 Hilltop Road, died June 22, 1997.
The funeral will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park.
Mr. Akridge was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a master mason, and a member of Merritt Drive Church of God.
Survivors include his grandson, Larry James Doss of Columbiana, Ala.; granddaughters, Carole Robeff of the home, and Sammie Sue Trevino of Tampa, Fla.; stepson, Edward J. Doss of Seffner, Fla.; sisters, Elsie Drew of Tampa, Fla., and Loraine Singletary of Thomasville, Ga.; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
