Obituary:
Chauncey C died in fatal railroad accident at Willimansett (Chicopee), MA. Obit: Was struck from the 11 o'clock train last night, between the depot and the bridge, and instantly killed. His body was horribly mangled. It is not known whether he was walking on the track or was attempting to get away from the train. He fell on the track. He had been to Holyoke to purchase medicine for his sick child and was returning home when he was killed. His brother identified his body this morning and removed it to his home in Willimansett. Jopson was 33 years old and leaves a wife and 2 children. He was employed by the Riverside Paper Co as a trimmer. His father has been employed for 25 yrs at the Parsons Paper Co, his brother William H has been a foreman of the Valley Paper Co. This accident emphasizes the need of a highway bridge between Holyoke and Willimansett, for walking on a bridge is not safe, whether day or night.
