Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today, Sept. 2, 2003, at Hopewell Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church Ccemetery.
The Rev. M Carter and the Rev. Braxton will officiate. Mrs. Benefield was born Nov. 14, 1919, in Marion County, the daughter of Mae Devane and Pearl Bozeman Dillard. She was retired from Manhattan Shirt Factory and was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church. Mrs.Benefield was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. John Blake Benefield and one son, David Lee Benefield. Survivors include one daughter, Vivien Powell of Ellaville; one son, Blake Benefield of Ellaville; two sisters, Ida D. Storey and Marguerita D. Etheridge, both of Americus; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
