Edgewater, Md. - BENTON E. ALEXANDER, 50, of 1616 Grange Road, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore. Born Nov. 6, 1949, in Corinth, W.Va., he was the son of the late Benton W. and Nora A. Butler Alexander.

He was employed as a roofer formerly of Tri-State Roofing in Hagerstown and was currently a roofer in the Baltimore area.

He is survived by a daughter, Keri Lee Alexander of Hagerstown; a stepdaughter, Shannon J. Truss of Killeen, Texas; a stepson, Damon S. Sargent of Florida; two sisters, Opal A. Sirbaugh and Patricia A. Strawser, both of Hagerstown; a brother, Ferris A. Alexander of Hagerstown; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James R. Alexander.

Funeral services were held at the Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, Hagerstown; (obituary says: burial will be in Deer Park Cemetery, Garrett County, Md - but I found him in Rose Hill Cemetery).
