George and Barbara lived in Perry Co., OH, for some time, their only child being born there in 1870. When his parents moved to Tennessee, perhaps it was then that George decided to move his family north to Napolean, Henry Co., OH. In the 1880 Ohio census Helen Cocke Johnston found them in Napolean on pp. 261 - Cocke, George 36 laborer. Born in Ohio. Barbara 34; Augustus 11.
In 1984 Helen and Cecil stopped in Napolean and visited with George's granddaughter and two granddaughters-in-law, who gave much information on George's descendants both deceased and living. Helen stopped at Forest Hill Cemetery to see their graves. Helen calculated that George and Barbara had observed their 50th wedding anniversary on 8 August 1918, before her death on 14 October 1918. Of the twelve siblings he lived the longest. His tombstone reads: Vol. Inf 32 Reg.
