Elizabeth GORDON, wife of Henry GORDON, was born in Wooster, Wayne county, Ohio, Jan. 22, 1837; died Feb. 17, 1899, aged sixty-two years and twenty-five days. She was the daughter of Henry and Mary SOLLIDAY.

Was married to Henry GORDON, March 11, 1858. To that union were born five children, two sons and three daughters, one little daughter being dead.

Lizzie came to Greene county, Indiana, with her parents in 1847. She was converted at the Cumberland church at Camp Ground. She united with the M. P. church at Allen chapel and lived a faithful Christian until death. She bore her suffering with patience. She was a Christian woman, loved by all who knew her. Her living disposition won many friends for her. She will be sadly missed by many and her own children can go to her nom more for advice and counsel, for she is gone. Her chair is vacant in the house, but none can fill her place. What is home without a mother. Let those who have mothers and fathers be kind to them–you will not always have them.

She leaves behind to mourn her loss a husband, two sons, two daughters and a dear old mother, besides many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the cross-roads Bethel by the writer, after which her remains were laid to rest in the Cross roads cemetery, awaiting the resurrection of the just
