He was born June 17, 1889, in Madison County, near Summitville, a son of John L. and May Whitney Armstrong. He was a retired fireman for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad, which he served 41 years.
Survivors include; the daughter, Mrs. Goshorn; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Whitney, Cincinnati; two brothers, Noel and Gene Armstrong, Anderson.
Funeral services were conducted Friday in Columbus, Ohio. Friends will be received after 9 a.m. Saturday in the Harden Funeral Home, Fairmount. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Park Cemetery, Fairmount.
