Evelyn Wogsland, longtime resident of Walum, North Dakota passed away at HCR ManorCare in Fargo on Sunday, February 9, 2014.

Evelyn Jenner was born July 14, 1924, to Adolph and Ricka (Wendlan) Jenner in Lehr, North Dakota. It was the custom in her family that Evelyn and each of her siblings "inherit" a nickname. She was affectionately known in her family as "Billie" after she saved a billy goat that had fallen in a local water tank.

Evelyn graduated from Lehr High School in 1942. Following graduation she attended beauty school in Minneapolis where Evelyn met Richard "Dick" Wogsland who was stationed at Ft. Snelling. They were married May 2, 1944. Upon Dick's discharge from the Army, Evelyn and Dick moved back to farm in Walum with Dick's brother Vernon. In 1956 the couple adopted their son, Dan.

Evelyn was very active in the community. She was a member of the St. Olaf Lutheran Church, the St. Olaf Ladies Aid, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Evelyn was an avid bowler at the Stri-King Lanes Bowling Alley in Hannaford.

She also enjoyed crocheting having made over 100 afghans for family and friends. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren, as well as visiting with her friends. Evelyn was also a big fan of the Green Bay Packers.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Dan; daughter-in-law Debra Wogsland; grandchildren Amber Wogsland, Adam and Coley Wogsland; and Aric Wogsland; and her sister, Ruth Hildenbrand.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Dick, her parents Adolph and Rika Jenner, sister, Verna and brother-in-law Aldon Flegel, brother, Marvin and sister-in-law Martha Jenner, brother, Earl and sister-in-law Violet Jenner, and brother-in-law Marvin Hildenbrand.
