Married Amanda Packwood 11 Feb 1852 in Wapello Co., Iowa. After her 12 Mar 1855 death he married Martha Kimball.

Ezekiel can be found in the 1860, 1870, and 1880 US Census living in Des Moines Co., Iowa. In the 1900 US Census he was living in the household of his son, David, in Otoe Co., Nebraska.

------------

Last Sunday morning when Mr. True, and old gentleman who lived in a small house on the farm of Mrs. Masters, northeast of town, failed to come to breakfast as usual, that lady went to his door and attempted to arouse him. Failing in the attempt she telephoned to his son, D. W. True, living about a half a mile distant, who immediately drove over and going to the house pushed open the door which was fastened by a button on the inside, and discovered his father lying in bed dead. His eyes were closed as though he had gently passed away in his sleep. His room showed that upon retiring he had made arrangements for his usual morning bath, and everything went to show that death had called him and he answered without a struggle.

Ezekiel True was born July 4, 1820, in Jefferson county, Kentucky. At the age of one year his parents moved to Clarke county, Indiana, where he grew to manhood. Later he immigrated to Burlington, Iowa. In 1851 he married Amanda Packwood and to this union one child, a son, Geo. W. True, was born. The mother passed away in the child's infancy. In 1856 he was married to Martha Ann Kimball. To this union eight children were born, five of whom are still living: Alice Thomes of Burlington, Iowa, D. W. True, of Syracuse, Mary Shum, of Vilisca, Iowa, Chas. W. True, of Wilber, and Wm. H. True of Lincoln. He was bereaved of his wife in 1870, leaving him with five small children, the eldest being 11 years of age. He was a faithful father keeping his family together and filling the place of both father and mother until the children had all grown to manhood and womanhood. He was one of a family of nine, seven boys and two girls, one sister and two brothers survive him, one of the brothers, Larkins True, being present at the services.

Deceased united with Christian church when a young man. He made his home with his children during his later years. The remains were shipped to Middletown, Iowa, to be intered by the side of his wife whose death preceeded his 33 years.
