Mrs. C. J. Lennox
Mrs. Mary Nolan Lennox, wife of former City Marshal Christopher J. Lennox and sister of his first wife, died at the Lennox home, 176 Ashburton Avenue, yesterday after a long illness. She had been an invalid a year and nine months.
Mr. Lennox, who had been park commissioner under Mayor Coyne, married Miss Margaret Nolan of Mount Hope, N. J. in 1894. She died in 1908. He married her sister, Miss Mary Nolan, in St. Joseph's Church in 1924.
Mrs. Lennox was one of three sisters, daughters of the late Michael and Ellen Nolan. She was born and educated in Mount Hope and came to Yonkers with another sister, Miss Ellen Nolan, 48 years ago. Miss Ellen Nolan died in 1920.
She was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church and a member of the Ladies' Catholic Benevolent Association.
She is survived by her husband and brother, former Deputy Public Works Commissioner Michael Nolan, and by a foster daughter, Miss Estelle Lennox, of this city and three foster-sons, Deputy Assessor Joseph J. Lennox, Harry Lennox, both of Yonkers, and Christopher Lennox, Democratic Village Chairman of North Tarrytown.
The funeral will be from the home Friday at 10:15 A. M. The rite of absolution will be performed in St. Joseph's Church at 10:30 o'clock. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
