Ms. Dortha Mae Brewton was born on September 16, 1947 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the daughter of Roosevelt Lowe Sr. and Mary Taggert Lowe. She went home to be with the Lord Tuesday February 11, 2014, Flint, Michigan. Dortha confessed hope in Christ and was baptized at the St. Hurricane M.B.C. in Pine Bluff, AR, under the leadership of the late Rev. Albert King. She later united with the North Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. James O. Flowers in Flint, Michigan. Dortha attended school in the Pine Bluff School District graduating from Southeast High School in 1965. She was first runner-up homecoming queen her senior year. Dortha also graduated from the Deluxe Beauty College of Cosmetology in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Ms. Brewton leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Andrea; three sons, Oshondre "Sugar Bear" Ondre "Rocky" and Ladonte "Slick"; special grandchildren, Sharonda and Rodney; special niece, Treece; sisters, Ora Butler and Sharon Lowe; brothers, Roosevelt Lowe Jr. and Pastor Alvin (Fleshia) Lowe all of Pine Bluff, AR; aunt, Georgia Matthews; a host grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews and relatives.

Ms. Brewton was preceded in death by her daughter, Yolanda Brewton; grandson, Deonte Brewton; sisters, Mary Cobbs Ferguson, Joyce L. Lowe; niece, DaJanke Smart.
