Doris (Ashworth) Baker age 95, of East Falmouth, MA died Sunday Feb. 16, 2014 at Royal Nursing Center in Falmouth. She was the wife of the late Sherman C. Baker to whom she was married 62 years. He died in 2008.
Born in Hebden Bridge, County of York, England she was the daughter of the late James and Alice (Wilkinson) Ashworth. She came the United States in 1930.
Her brother Albert E. Ashworth and her sister Phyllis (Ashworth) Crabtree preceded her in death. She and her husband lived in Natick for many years.. They moved to East Falmouth in 1952.
Doris loved dogs and had many as pets, and enjoyed daily walks with them and visiting with neighbors and friends. She and her husband also love to travel back to England and other foreign countries.
She leaves many great nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be Friday Feb. 21, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main St. (Rt. 28) Falmouth Center. Burial will be in Acushnet Cemetery.
