Bernice Abbett, 92, Liberty, died Sunday at Ashland Care Center, Liberty. She was born April 11, 1904, in Tuscumbia, a daughter of Philander and Alice Birdsong Richardson. She was married Jan. 9, 1923, in Tuscumbia, to Elvin Charles Abbett, who died March 29, 1984.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Ninth Street Christian Church. She lived on a farm near Mt. Pleasant for more than 40 years.
Survivors include: three daughters, Katherine Farmer, Gladstone, Irene Farris, Springfield, and Geraldine Dillon, Pleasant Valley, N.Y.; one brother, Hoover Richardson, Harrisonville; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Brother Don E. Renken will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Eldon
