Lois was united in marriage to Joseph E. Kirchner on April 17, 1961, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brewster. They made their home in the rural Fulda/Wilmont area and were engaged in farming. The couple immensely enjoyed polka dancing & card playing. Lois helped with the farming operations and did all the accounting for the farm business.
She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont and was involved with the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, bowling and her passion was taking care of her children, grandchildren, and babysitting neighborhood children.
Lois is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joseph; children, Lori (Galen) Kruse; Lynne Hart and Lucy Carlin both; four grandchildren, Levi Kruse, Melissa Carlin, Michelle Hart and Ann Hart, one great grandchild, Jaden Post; three sisters, Carol Fauglid; Janet (Roger) Jacobsen; and Linda Cope; sisters-in-law, Garnet Burns, Betty Burns and Janet Stappenbeck.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Gavin Kruse, two brothers, Gene and Donald Burns, four sisters, Marcella Burns, Arlene Burns, Marlys Burmeister and Darlene Kremer-White.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont and continue on Friday at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
A mass of Christian burial will be Friday at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont with Father Tim Jennings officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Wilmont.
