"Death Takes Henry J. Bosse of New Era"

New Era, June 6 (Thurs.) - Henry J. Bosse, 78, New Era farmer whose life was prolonged Sunday when serum was speeded from Muskegon to the Oceana Hospital at Hart, died Wednesday, June 5.

He had suffered a heart attack Sunday, but due to diabetes only serum could be used and the nearest supply was at Muskegon.

Mr. Bosse leaves 69 direct descendants. He was born September 20, 1878, at St. Helena, Canada, moving to Lake Leelanau with his parents at age 5. He married Gertrude Beaudoin there November 20, 1901, and 17 years later the couple moved to Muskegon, residing there 12 years. They moved to Grant Township 27 years ago.

Mr. Bosse was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Claybanks.

He leaves his wife, seven daughters, eight sons, 39 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, three sisters, and three brothers.

Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Albert Davis and Mrs. Lee Gorbitt, Flint, Mrs. Anthony Rice of Lake Leelanau, Mrs. John Genereaux of Lakewood, Mrs. Cleon Walker of Rothbury, Mrs. Ernest Glover of Shelby, Mrs. Lawrence Eilers of Montague; eight sons, Benjamin of Muskegon Heights, Daniel and Ignatius of Muskegon, Sgt. Edmund with the Army in France, Kenneth of Rothbury, Leonard, Mark, and Octavius, all of New Era; three sisters, Mrs. Rose Gauthier and Mrs. Clara Denoyer of Lake Leelanau, Mrs. George Schaub of Cavina, Calif.; three brothers, Joseph Bosse of Lake Leelanau, Lawrence Bosse of Muskogee, Okla., Frank Bosse of New Era; 39 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Family Rosary will be recited at 9 pm today at Cooper Funeral Home in Shelby. Public Rosary will be recited at 8:30 pm Friday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will take place at 10 am Saturday at St. James Catholic Church in Montague with Rev. Fr. Julius Amman officiating. Burial will be in the Claybanks Catholic Cemetery.
