George Johnson, age 86, of Tipp City, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Troy Care and Rehabilitation Center, Troy. He was born in Bedford, KY on April 1, 1927 to the late Richard Leland and Della (McKay) Johnson. George was married to Reogene Emswiller. She preceded him in death on July 27, 2013.

George is survived by four daughters: Carolyn Sullivan o Cullen, LA, Diane Nogenosh of Parry Sound, Ontario, Rebecca A. Johnson of Tipp City and Anita Lynn Johnson of Piqua: one brother: Hiram Johnson of Casstown; two sisters: Gladys Weaver of Arcanum and Helen Lewis, IN; nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, George was preceded in death by his son: Charles; three brothers and one grandson.

George was a toolmaker at A. O. Smith electrical Products Co., Tipp City. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 2201 in Tipp City and VFW Post 4615 in Tipp City.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Tipp City with Pastor Bruce Jackson officiating.
