Age 55 years (b. circa 1858), a native of Spain and a resident of Algiers the past 25 years.
He leaves a wife, Mary Silvey, and several children and lived at 219 Bermudas Street.

Mr. Santos was a ship carpenter. While engaged in repair work Friday afternoon (about 2:15) on the paddle wheel of the river boat Pittsburgh, anchored at the head of Pelican Avenue, lost his footing on the staging and fell into the river. His fellow workers saw the accident but could not help the drowning man. His body was recovered Sunday, June 22, 1913 , at the head of Delaronde Street by John Stewart, 822 River Street, and Armand Suzett, 425 Vallette Street. (New Orleans Item, Monday, Jun 23, 1913, Pg. 3). His funeral was at the residence of his son-in-law, Capt. Chas. J. Mott, 431 Bermuda Street, Algiers on Monday, June 23, 1913.
