She was born May 22, 1925 in Radcliff, Ohio, daughter of the late Edgar and Celia (Hunter) Hensler. Betty was married to Joseph W. Van Allen Sr. who survives.
She was a member of Hope United Methodist Church in Wellston.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Sue Angel of Wellston; granddaughter, Tabatha (Damion) Morse of Rockford, Illnois; and great-grandchildren, Malary, Mariah, Maxwell and Myles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joseph W. Van Allen Jr.; and brothers, William, Robert, Larry, Donald and Edgar Hensler Jr.
Funeral services will be held Friday March 7, 2014 in the Garret-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 West High Street Wellston. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery McArthur, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-7 P.M.
