Louine went to White Church Grade School and graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1940. She worked at the North American Bomber Plant in Fairfax during World War II. She attended the University of Kansas where she met her husband Ralph Herman. They were married in 1947 in the Danforth Chapel at the KU campus. Her husband died in 1988.
Louine retired from the Hartford Insurance Company in 1981.
She was a member of the White Church 4-H Club as a child. She was also a member of the Wyandot Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution.
