Obituary, Observer-Reporter, February 20, 1978 John R. (Pete) McElhaney, 73, of 303 First Avenue, Carnegie, formerly of Cecil, died in St. Clair Hospital Sunday, February 19, 1978. He was born November 12, 1904, in Venice, a son of William and Lola Rankin McElhaney.
Until he retired in 1969, he was employed by Ben Construction Co. He was a member of Operation Engineers Local 66. His wife, Louis Piret McElhaney, died December 2, 1977.
Surviving are one daughter, Louise, wife of Anthony Bomblosky, Cecil; one son, Raymond R., Houston; two sisters, Mary Cain, Canonsburg, and Betty Weber, Houston; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
