Henry Baker was born on February 23, 1921 in Longtown, Cubmria, England to parents Henry and Margaret Baker. It was in England that Henry was raised and educated. Henry married Holda Thompson, and to this union son Harry was born.
Henry loved the outdoors and animals, this drew Henry to finding employment working for farmers in England. In time, Henry enlisted with the British Army serving in Active Duty during World War II. This chapter of Henry's life would send him to places such as Sicily, Italy and North Africa where Henry was be wounded. Henry's wife Holda passed away in 1945 while he was enlisted with the British Army. Following his discharge from the Army he returned to his great passion of farming.
Henry immigrated to Canada in the 1950's first settling in Grainland, Saskatchewan, and then in 1960 he moved north to the Bjorkdale district where he resided until his passing. His life in Canada continued with his passion of the outdoors, animals, and farming. Henry also tried his hand in logging during the winters.
Henry was generous to a fault, he was always willing to help others, and was giving of himself.
Henry was predeceased by his Parents, wife Holda, siblings: Jim, Allan, Ellen, his long time friend Ella Hawes, and numerous other relatives in England.
Henry is survived by his son Harry (Jenny) Baker of Aspatria, England; grandchildren: Julie Baker (Richard), Paula (Gary) Archibald, and David (Carol) Baker; great-grandchildren: Sian, Ryan, Jay, Jordy, James, Joel, Macey, and Ella; great-great-grandchildren: Casey and Faith; brother Clem (Margaret) Baker of Scotby, England; as well as the entire Therres family and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
