Annie Josephine Jenkins, age 90, of Portland, passed away March 6, 2014, after a long illness. Mrs. Jenkins was a member of the First Baptist Church of Portland. She was born in Robertson County, and she was preceded in death by her father, Estelle Pinson; mother, Lucie Fletcher Pinson; sister, Betty Randolph; daughter, Carolyn Jenkins Barnette; son-in-law, Charles R. Barnette; husband, Floyd Y. Jenkins. She is survived by her sisters, Frances Pinson Jones of Humboldt, and Edna Pinson Kidd of Springfield; numerous nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Charles Jonathan Barnette and wife, LuAnne Killian Barnette; great-grandchildren Henry Glen Barnette and Clara Jenkins Barnette of Huntsville, Ala., Jennifer Jenkins Barnette of New York City, and Amy Carolyn Barnette Cunningham and husband Zac Cunningham of Louisville, Ky. Visitation is after 3 p.m., Sunday. Funeral service is 3:30 p.m., Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home with Rev. Greg McCoy officiating. Interment is at Mapale Hill Cemetery.
