He was born January 10, 1944, in Johnson County, the son of Burns and Mandy Blanton.
He is survived by his wife, Katrina Shell Cantrell; one step-son, Jamie Shell of Oil Springs; two brothers, Ford Cantrell of Oil Springs and Dean Cantrell of Springfield , Ohio; and one sister, Mary Anna Flaker also of Springfield.
Services are today, June 26, 1996, at the Pigeon Enterprise Baptist Church in Oil Springs with Reverend Charles Stapleton and Mike Warnock officiating. Burial will be in the Cantrell Family Cemetery.
Paintsville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
