Charles Geary Dies at 88; Was Spanish War Veteran
Charles Geary, 88, of 148 Malden Road, Mattydale, a native of Baldwinsville and a Mattydale resident 26 years, died yesterday at Veterans Administration Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Geary was an engineer with the New York Central Railroad for 39 years before retiring in 1945. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen, Lodge 105.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Cora Rogers Geary; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Hofmann and Miss Marjorie Geary of Westvale; a granddaughter and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Albert E. Gordon of North Syracuse.
Services will be at 9 a.m. tomorrow at the Leitten Funeral Home, Mattydale, and 9:30 a.m. in St. Margaret’s Church. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
