JOHN ANDREWS, MYRA ANDREWS AND BRANDI ANDREWS
John Andrews, 43, and his wife, the Rev. Myra Andrews, 41, of Vernon, passed away Sunday May 27, 2001, on Highway 79 Ebro, from injuries received in an automobile accident. Their daughter, Brandi, 9, died Memorial Day May 28. Funeral services for John, the Rev. Myra and Brandi will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church, 829 Hamilton Ave., Panama City with Bishop John Adams, the Rev. O. C. Williams and presiding Elder Joseph Sanchez officiating. Interment will follow in St. Luke Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Vernon. The remains will be in state at the church two hours prior to services. John was a native of Walton County, a 1976 graduate of Walton High School and a longtime resident of Vernon. He was employed with Anderson Columbia as a bridge superintendent, served as superintendent of the church school and a trustee of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, where the Rev. Myra was the pastor, in Panama City. The Rev. Myra was a native of Washington County, Vernon, Fla., a 1977 graduate of Vernon High School, earned an associate degree in communication from Gulf Coast College May 3, 2001, and was employed as a productive administrative assistant with F.D.O.T., Chipley. John and Myra were proprietors of J & M Construction and partners in Inspiration Gospel Music, P.C. Brandi was promoted to the third grade V.E.S. and received a top Accelerated Reader's Award and other achievement awards. Survivors include their son and brother, Brandon Andrews of Vernon; Myra's parents, Thomas and Pearlie Edwards of Vernon; John's parents, Jesse and Nannie Andrews of Red Bay; grandparents, Jessie and Rosie Edwards of Ebro; step-grandmother, Videll Bland; P.C. siblings: Kenneth (Carol) Edwards, Keith (Michelle) Edwards of Vernon, Tracy Edwards of Tampa, Trevor Edwards of Panama City, Wesley (Jersey) Andrews, Cornilla (Carl) Hogans all of Red Bay, Donnie (Sandra) Andrews, Thelma Durham both of Defuniak Springs, Shirley Andrews of Crestview, Harry (Carolyn) Andrews of Caryville, Juanita King of Panama City, Jesse (Tina) Andrews Jr. of Sacramento, Calif., Donald (Rose) Andrews of Deland, Keith (Pat) Andrews of Fort Bragg, N.C., and Alnetta Hogan of Wisconsin and many other relatives and friends.
