THE VILLAGES — Hilda Barnes Dorsett, 85, died Thursday, May 13, 2010.
Mrs. Dorsett was born in Wilson, N.C., and moved to The Villages from Rocky Mount, N.C., in 2001. She was a homemaker; a former square dancer; was of the Christian faith; and enjoyed traveling and ballroom dancing.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; daughters Becky Barnes Terry and Barbara Jean Jeter, both of The Villages; sister, Jean Lagrange, Rocky Mount; brother, William Clifton Barnes Jr., Atlantic Beach, N.C.; stepdaughter, Teresa Stoll, Brooksville; stepsons, James Reece Dorsett, London, England, David Allen Dorsett, Crystal River; five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 10 step-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages, with Pastor Michael Hunkus officiating. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 17, at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at hiers-baxley.com.
