Bruce McCaffrey, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, in Bradenton, FL from complications of renal failure. He was 71. Born in Brooklyn NY on Feb. 22, 1943, his parents were John and Kay McCaffrey. Bruce was raised in Allenhurst, NJ. He graduated from Red Bank Catholic High School and Villanova University with a BS degree in Economics. He attended Harvard Business School and the UCLA Executive Program in Business and served during the Vietnam War era as a U.S. Army helicopter pilot and infantry officer. After serving his country, he pursued a career in the airline industry. Starting with National Airlines then Pan American, Bruce retired from Qantas Airlines after 20 years with the company as Vice President of Freight for North and South America. Bruce recently moved from Redondo Beach, CA to Bradenton, FL.

His passions were aviation, travel, physical fitness and history. Bruce was an avid reader.

He leaves behind his sister, Karen McCaffrey of Bonita Springs, FL; brother, Neil; sister-in-law, Cindy McCaffrey of Newton, and several nieces and nephew.
