Eugene B. Bloom Dead; Stricken Mowing Lawn

A 78-year-old man collapsed and died yesterday while mowing his lawn.

Police identified him as Eugene B. C. Bloom of 104 Eloise Terr. Relatives said he had been suffered a heart condition.

The coroner’s office said the death was due to natural causes.

Mr. Bloom was a native of Williamsport, Pa. and for 45 years was a hardwood finisher for the Marsellus Casket Co. He was a member of the Freeman Ave. Methodist Church, Solvay.

Mr. Bloom is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Ellis Bloom; four sons, Eugene B. C. Jr., George, Robert and Richard Bloom; two daughters, Mrs. Earl Ashby of Baldwinsville and Mrs. Fred Powers of Rochester; a sister, Mrs. Jennie Ness of Emporium, Pa., and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 4 p.m. tomorrow in the Greenleaf Funeral Home, 503 W. Onondaga St., the Rev. Charles L. Hess officiating.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens.
