Eugene B. Bloom, 90, of 5122 Onondaga Road died Monday at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Newport News, Va., he lived in the Syracuse area many years. He was a chief tool engineer at Lipe-Rollway Corp. He was a former chairman of the American Society of Tool and Manufacturing Engineers and past president of the Industrial Management Club of Syracuse.

Mr. Bloom was a master mason in the Central City Lodge for 65 years, a trustee several years and lodge deacon three years, past thrice potent master of the Lodge of Perfection, post commander in chief and orator of Consistory of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of the Valley of Syracuse. He was a member of Chapter 70 Arch Masons, the Tigris Temple Shrine; past puissant sovereign of St. Leo Conclave, the Red Cross of Constantine; past patron of Chapter 752, Order of the Eastern Star; and former adviser of Rainbow for Girls. He was an ordained elder of Taunton Presbyterian Church and a founding member of the African Violet Society of Syracuse.

Surviving are his wife, Elberta; a daughter, Carole Barlow of Syracuse; a brother, Robert of Syracuse; a sister, Betty Ashby of Baldwinsville; a grandson; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 7 p.m. Thursday at Greenleaf Funeral Home with a masonic service and a Scottish Rite 33rd-degree service is 6:30 p.m. Burial is in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Syracuse.

Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 503 W. Onondaga St.
