A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, in St. Pius X Catholic Church for Dr. Richard M. Weigel, who died Sept. 26 at age 80. A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, also in the church.
Dr. Weigel was born Jan. 5, 1927, in Hays, Kan.
During World War II, he served in the Navy. He moved in 1955 to Portland, where he graduated from the University of Oregon Dental School. He was a dentist with a private practice and a member of the church.
In 1948, he married Betty L. Gordon.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Linda L.; son, Peter G.; sister, Clara M. Stenkamp; and two grandchildren.
