Rosemary George Abel, 72, of Dover died peacefully on Friday, January 18, 2002 surrounded by family at her home. She had been ill for several months and had been under Hospice Care.

Born May 27, 1929 in Dover she was a daughter of the late Nick D. and Gladys Mabel Tate George. A son, Gregory Allen Abel, and two brothers also preceded Rosemary in death.

She is survived by two sons, James L. Abel and Jerry E. Abel, both of Dover; a granddaughter, Beth Ann Abel; sisters, Julia Ann (Lorence) Riggle of Dover, and Maxine Zimmerman of New Philadelphia; brothers, James A. (Esther) George of New Philadelphia and Jack E. George of Gallatin, Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews, including "special" nieces Karen LeBlanc and Jill Ann Bennett, and devoted nephew, Steve Zimmerman.

Rosemary attended Dover High School and was employed for many years by the Times Reporter and Midwest Offset Co.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2002 at 1:30 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Glen Shedlock officiating. Interment will be at Dover Burial Park. Friends can call at the funeral home on Tuesday one hour prior to the service.
