Roger D. Brummond, 78, of 2276 S. Hawthorne Park Dr., died Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, at his home. He was born in Janesville on Dec. 31, 1926, the son of Louis and Elizabeth (Berger) Brummond. Roger graduated from Janesville High School in 1944 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Margaret Probst on May 17, 1952, in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He had been employed by JATCO for 17 years before retiring in 1988, as well as owned and operated the Standard Gas station on Main and Racine Streets. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Loyal Order of Moose, life member of the Elks Club, and the Knights of Columbus. Roger enjoyed playing baseball on several leagues for many years and was an avid baseball fan. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; 2 daughters, Lynn (Jim) McAndrew of Portland, OR, and Laurie (John) Van Horn of Milton; a grandson, Ryan McAndrew of Portland, OR; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Victor; 2 sisters, Ruth Everson and Luella Wood; sister-in-law, Marie Brummond; and nephew, Gary Brummond.
