William Lawrence Schmidt, 69, Home City,
Kansas died February 14, 2005 at Cambridge
place in Marysville, Kansas where he had
been a resident since July 2004.
He was born February 5, 1936 in rural Axtell
farm home to Rose Mary (Dalsing) and Ralph
Joseph Schmitdt. Most of his adult life was
spent farming south of Home City.
William was in the U.S. Army Reserve and
was honorably discharged in December of 1963.
He was a 29 year member of the American Legion.
In November of 1968 he married Linda
Louise Holle.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; two sons
Joseph Schmidt, Home City, Kansas and
Rodney Schmidt, Durham, North Carolina;
a daughter, Jerri Lynn Hassan, Goessel,
Kansas; three sisters, Mary Jane Foley,
Marysville, Kansas, Pauline Henderson,
Lincoln, and Margaret JoAnn Yarger,
Centralia, Kansas; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents,
a brother, Ralph and a nephew, James
Foley as well as his first wife Joyce, and
infant daughter, Julie.
William was cremated. A private service
will be held at a later date.
Inurnment was held in Home City Cemetery,
Home, Kansas.
