Maurice Harris, 58, of Shawnee, passed away March 21.

He was born May 17,1955 to Lucy Mae Harris and Bobby Neal Williams in Seminole, OK.

Maurice grew up in Earlsboro where he attended and graduated from Earlsboro Public Schools in 1974. He was baptized and was an active member of Nelson Chapel C.M.E Church.

Maurice Served in the U.S. Army for six years. He worked for the city of Tecumseh for 14 years, then transferred to The City of Shawnee where he worked for 11 years. He retired and shortly after retirement he began working for the Maintenance Department for Citizen Pottawatomie Nation.

Maurice was preceded in death by his grandparents Arthur and Lizzie Harris, mother Lucy Mae Harris, father Bobby Neal Williams, brother Marvin Harris, sister Charlene Harris and one son.

Maurice leaves to cherish his memories with his loving wife, Audrey L. Harris of 33 years, 14 children: Maurica Harris (Shawnee) Maurice Harris Jr. (Houston, TX) Arion Harris (Midwest City) Denzel Harris (of the Home) Nedra Johnson (Oklahoma City) Treva Kennedy (OKC) Travis Kennedy (Shawnee) Travon Kennedy (Del City) ‘Travoryea Kennedy ( Shawnee) Clarissa Harris (Tulsa) Starriah Jones (Ada) Fannie Jones (Norman) and Kodi Conway (OKC); two brothers Rodney Harris (Glenda) (Spencer) and Michael Williams (Demetrious); four sisters Irma Cheathem (Don) (Earlsboro), Darlene Johnson (Earlsboro), Veronica Bernard (Earlsboro), and Gerna Williams; two Aunts Ida Wiseman (Holly Springs) and Elmira Harris (Spencer, OK.) and 24 grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held Saturday, March 29 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Shawnee located at 10th & Union, Shawnee, OK 74801. Rev. Michael Harris will officiate the service.

Interment will follow at Earlsboro Cemetery with Military Honors.
