Edward M. Allison, 98, formerly of Hanover, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at the Brethren Home Community, New Oxford. He was the husband of Ella M. (Bottiger) Allison, who he married Dec. 27, 1927.
Born Sept. 11, 1903, in Marshall, Va., he was the son of the late John and Mary (German) Allison.
He was a lifelong farmer in the Hanover area. He attended Bethel United Church of Christ, Spring Grove.
Surviving also are two sons, Evan Allison of Thomasville and Ralph Allison of Spring Grove; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Harold and Donald Allison.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover. The Rev. Lou Ann Jones, pastor of Bethel United Church of Christ, Spring Grove, will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Thomas Allison, Edward Allison, Harry Allison, Michael Stevenson, Steve Beard and David Crowell; and serving as honorary pallbearer will be Robert Crowell.
