Mrs. Alma LeGrand Leslie, wife of the prominent pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Ballinger, Rev. J.D. Leslie died at the manse on Friday, February 5th. Mrs. Leslie was the daughter of Mr. LeGrand of Weatherford and had been married 10 years. From this happy marriage there remained three children. For nearly five years, Mr. Leslie has been the pastor beloved of the First Presbyterian Church in Ballinger, and his wife in the quiet lovliness and gentle helpfulness and marked piety of her life has been a worthy help-meet for her husband in his great work. Her sister, Mrs. William Chew of Weatherford, arrived two hours before her death. This sister will take the place of the mother so far as possible to the bereaved children. Services were held in Weatherford conducted by Rev. Jesse W. Siler, of San Angelo, assisted by Rev. G.W. Fender of the Eighth Street Presbyterian Church and Rev. J.A. Biggs of the Ballinger Methodist Church.
