Margaret (Peggy) Boyette Parker, 54, of 2799 Wilkinsville Hwy., died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at the home of her sister.
Mrs. Par-ker was the widow of Irby L. Par-ker and daughter of Margaret Sparks Boyette of Gaffney and the late Luther E. Boyette Sr. She was a member of Draytonville Baptist Church, where she and her husband taught the 5-year-olds Sunday School class for a number of year. She also taught the Senior Ladies Class.
Mrs. Parker graduated from Gaffney Senior High School in 1968 and attended Alverson-Broughan Business College. She was office manager for Belk for 20 years prior to working with Cherokee County Assessor's office. She served as Cherokee County Tax Collector for a number of years.
Surviving in addition to her mother are two sisters, Barbara B. Padgett and husband, Jim, and Cindy B. Flores and husband, Vince, all of Gaffney; a brother, Luther (JR) Boyette and wife, Dana, of Evansville, Ind.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Draytonville Baptist Church. Visitation will be tonight from 7-9 at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Don Childers, Lee Turner, Bink Parris, Hoke Parris, Terry Holmes, Walter "Fat" Phillips, Bruce Jacobson, Jim Parker and Neb Cash.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, Interim Hospice, House of Grace or Draytonville Baptist Church.
