Mrs. Evelyn M. Shrom, 67, 1282 Lebanon Road, Manheim, following a brief
illness of leukemia.
She was born September 19, 1931, in Altoona, the daughter of the late Leo J.
and Emma B. (Whetstine) Farrell. She married Frank M. Shrom May 10, 1952, in
Altoona.
Mrs. Shrom was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lancaster, where she was
a Sunday school teacher.
She worked with her husband in the family business, Shrom Associates.
Mrs. Shrom was a 1949 graduate of Altoona High School.
She enjoyed flower arranging /gardening, painting and crafts.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters: Brenda A. Hultin of Chambersburg
and Karen S. McMichael of Lancaster; two sons: David L. of Mifflinburg and
and Stephen A. of Lancaster; four sisters: Geraldine Jenkins of Akron, OH,
Leona, Naomi Young and Inez Merritts, all of Altoona; two brothers: Leo J Jr.
of Duncansville and Burket R. of Franklin, NC; and 10 grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 1 to 2 PM Wednesday at Evangelical Lutheran
church of the Holy Trinity, Lancaster, and from noon to 1:30 PM Thursday at
Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc.
SHROM - Services for Evelyn M. Shrom of Manheim will be held at 1:30 PM
Thursday, July 15, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th Street,
Altoona, by Bishop Ronald J. Diggs. Committal will be at Blair Memorial
Park, Antis Township. Friends will be received from 1 to 2 PM Wednesday at
Evangelical Lutheran church of the Holy Trinity, Lancaster, where a funeral
service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday by Bishop Ronald J. Diggs and received
from noon to 1:30 PM Thursday, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc. She is
survived by son-in-law, Darrel McMichael. Her most valued role was wife and
mother.
