Leo J. Farrell Jr., 78, Duncansville, went home to be with his Lord, Saturday at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Leo J. Sr. and Emma (Whetstine) Farrell. He married Phyllis G. Stoner Nov. 27, 1948, in Altoona.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters: Bonnie S. Ebersole and husband, Joe, of Hollidaysburg and Tammy L. Farrell of Pine Grove Mills; two sons: Jim A. and wife, Kathy, of Philadelphia, and Kevin J. and wife, Lori, of College Station, Texas; four sisters: Geraldine Jenkins in Ohio, Leona Farrell, Naomi Young and Inez Merritts, all of Altoona; a brother, Burket of Franklin, N.C.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Schrom.

Mr. Farrell was a member of Hollidaysburg Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, where he served as head elder, Sunday school teacher, choir member and song leader. He was also a member of the Men's Christian Community Chorus.

Mr. Farrell was owner of Farrell's Rubber Stamp and retired from Electric Motor and Supply Co. He formerly worked at Maximon Machine Co.

He was a 1946 graduate of Altoona High School and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Friends will be received from 10 to the 11 a.m. time of memorial service Wednesday at Altoona Alliance Church, McMahon Road and 17th Street, Altoona, by Pastor Donald Robson. Private interment will take place at the convenience of the family at Alto-Reste Park.
