Services for Alonzo Wells, 69, of Rt. 4, Mt Olive, were conducted at 10 a. m. Dec. 19 from the Concord Baptist Curch with interment in the church cemetery.
Rev. Jim H. Sanders, Rev. A D. Neiman and Rev. Chester Roberts officiated with Mims Mitchell Funeral Home in charge.
Wells died on Thursday December 17, following a short illness. He was born in Smith County on June 25, 1901 and was a member of the Concord Baptist Church, Smith County.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Scrap (Sullivan) Wells; one daughter, Mrs. J. C. Sellers, Memphis, Tenn.; one son, Nelson Wells, Mt. Olive; one brother, L. E. Wells, Mt. Olive; one sister, Mrs. Nora Lee Cook, Mendenhall; two grandchildren.
