BARRON, Andrew "Buck," 90, of Tampa, passed away peacefully January 28, 2006. Survivors include his wife, Mary Cannella Barron; daughter, Dr. Lenay B. Suarez; son, Andrew M. Barron, and wife, Sharon; and five grandchildren, Miriam, Drew, Nader, Janan and Ziad. Mr. Barron was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved to read, and instilled the qualities of academic excellence and high achievement in his children. He was an avid fisherman, loved woodworking and was a commercial painter. He owned and operated Barron's Grocery for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Japanese Theater, where he received a battlefield commission and the Purple Heart. At the conclusion of the war, he was honorably discharged as a second lieutenant. Active pallbearers include Andrew Barron, Dr. Claudia Hohn, Dr. Felix Cannella, Tony Sanchez Jr., Felix Cannella Jr., Joe Myers, William Claustre, Sam Ellis, Boe Ellis and L.D. Faison. Honorary pallbearers include Julian I. Rice, Dr. R. Bhatty, Dr. Domenic Cannella, Kenneth Reyes, Felix Lopez, Bob Manuele, Harold Samhat, Michael Cacciatore, Edward Fertic III, Richard Long III, Joseph Gavanditti, Lou Fields, John Norris and Don Zander. The family would like to express our appreciation to Dr. Luis Bencomo, Dr. Gerald Dominguez, Dr. David Wright and Dr. Ira Mandel for the excellent care they provided during this difficult time. We would also like to thank Pat Smallwood, Kara Geary and Holly Lajeunesse, his caregivers. We would like to express our gratitude to the staff members of LifePath Hospice for their attentive care. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2006, at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa, Fla. Entombment will follow in Myrtle Hill Mausoleum where military honors will be accorded. The family will gather to receive friends 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to LifePath Hospice in Mr. Barron's memory.
