Neil Blansett, 73, passed away, Friday, March 18, 2011, at his home in Pheba. Neil Blansett was born May 16, 1937, in Clay County, to the late Sallie Liza Russell Blansett and Ollie M. Blansett. He was a Panel Welder for Babcock and Wilcox Company for 30 years and a member of Hebron Baptist Church. Omar Neil Blansett married Barbara Watson June 12, 1959, at Pheba.

Funeral services are Sunday, March 20, 2011, at 3 p.m. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Bro. Jerry Grammar officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Bluff Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery, Cedar Bluff.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Watson Blansett of Pheba; two daughters, Carol McKee of Maben, Stacy Blansett (Jimmy) of Cedar Bluff; one son, David Neil Blansett (Loretta) of Pheba; eight grandchildren; Paige McKee, Angie McKee, Jonathan Blansett, Jessica Clark, Billy Clark, III, Bo McKee, Chris McKee and Hailey McKee and 11 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. His son-in-law in death, Donnie McKee, his brother, Bennie F. Blansett and sister Nellie Louise Hirter preceded Mr Blansett.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Strickland, Floyd McKee, Billy Ray Doss, Blake Garrard, Lewis Stafford, and Robert Champion.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Judge Thomas E. Martin, William Griffin, Zack Walker, Sonny Sizemore, Larry Howell, D. M. Langford, Curtis McKee, Butch Childs, Steve McKee, Bobby Joe McKee, Charles Clanton, Bobby Champion, Mark Vaughn, North MS Medical Center Hospice, Dr. John Cox, Dr. Julian Hill, and former co-workers at Babcock & Wilcox Company.
