Bernice Bradey Newman, 91, of Inman, SC, died Friday, April 4, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center-ER. Born March 31, 1923, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Franklin Bradey and Annie Mary Charles Bradey and widow of Lewis Allen Newman, Sr.

Mrs. Newman was a member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church, the Discipleship Sunday School Class, and served in the church nursery for 30 years. She was retired from Inman Laundry & Cleaners.

Among survivors are her son, Allen Newman Jr. (Beth) of Inman; four grandchildren, John Pendleton Moore (Lindsay), Anne Brady Moore Carlson (Jeff), Amanda Newman Harding (Ben), and Rebecca Alana Newman (fiancé, Joel); two great-grandchildren, Anne McCauley Carlson and William Newman Harding; and brother, Ludie Bradey. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Betty Ann Newman Moore; brothers, William Henry Bradey and Luther Bradey; and sister, Hazel Christina Bradey.

Visitation will be 1:30-2:45 PM Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Boiling Springs First Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Hank Williams. Burial will be in Boiling Springs First Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Boiling Springs First Baptist Church Building Fund, 3600 Boiling Springs Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.

The family is at the home of Allen and Beth Newman.
