FRANKLIN B. BLAISDELL
The death of Waushara Co.’s well known and prosperous farmer occurred at his home in the town of Bloomfield, Wednesday morning, October 2, 1901.

The deceased was born in Cambridge, La Moil Co., Vt., August 17, 1830, and was at the time of his death in his seventy-second year.

At the age of nineteen he was married to Ruth Stanhope, who lived only four years. By this union one child was born, Homer, who is living in Stanley, Wis., and with his wife attended his father’s funeral. In 1855 he was united in wedlock to Vesta Westman, who is still living. Five children were born to this union, four of whom survive.

In the year of 1859, Mr. Blaisdell with his family came to Wis., locating in the town of Bloomfield, where he has since resided. At the breaking out of the war of the Rebellion he enlisted in the Union Army in Co. D. of the 8th Wis. Infantry and was honorably discharged at the close of the conflict. He has since been an active; interested official member of the G. A. R. His last sickness was brief, having been confined to his bed but two days. Death was due to a complication of bowel and kidney trouble.

In his death we lose one of our pioneer settlers. The funeral services were held at the Brushville school house, Friday at 2 p. m., Rev. [?]. T. Fish, officiating.

The G. A. R. Post of PoySippi was present and laid his body to rest in the neighboring cemetery, awaiting the glorious resurrection.
