Lloyd W. "Todd" Albaugh, 89, of Mount Joy, formerly of Elizabethtown and Warren, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Hospice & Community Care of Lancaster County, Mount Joy, with his family by his side. Born in Clarendon, he was the son of the late Marion "Vern" and Mae (Sallade) Albaugh. His cherished wife of 63 years, Marion (Anderson), preceded him in death in December, 2011.
Todd was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving from September 1943 until March 1946. His service on naval troop ships was largely in the South Pacific where, among other things, he was witness to the Battle of Iwo Jima. During his time in the service, Todd made several cross-country trips by train from San Francisco, CA to Erie, PA. In 2009, at the age of 84, Todd was able to visit the WW II Memorial in Washington, D.C. with his son and two grandsons.
